পনেরো শতকের কবি শাহ মুহম্মদ সগীর বাংলা সাহিত্যের প্রথম মুসলমান কবি। তিনি বাংলা সাহিত্যের প্রথম রোমান্টিক প্রণয়োপাখ্যান `ইউসুফ জোলেখা’ রচনা করেন। ষোলো শতকের কবি দৌলত উজির বাহরাম খান `লাইলী - মজনু' কাব্য রচনা করেন। সতেরো শতকের কবি আলাওলের শ্রেষ্ঠ রচনা ‘পদ্মাবতী’ কাব্য।
